F. Mar Professional Corporation is a boutique tax practice founded on a simple belief: people deserve clarity, respect, and genuine partnership. After more than 20 years advising at top-tier firms (including KPMG and BDO) and major organizations, I created this firm to deliver big-firm technical depth with the personal attention and accessibility that busy business owners and families truly need — all at fair, transparent rates.

Meet the Founder
Hello, I’m Felicia Mar, MPAcc, CPA, CA — Founder and Senior Tax Advisor at F. Mar Professional Corporation.
With over 20 years as a tax advisor and more than a decade as a tax educator for CPA Canada, I founded F. Mar Professional Corporation in late 2025 to bring big-firm expertise with true boutique care.
My Entrepreneur Journey
My path to tax advisory started early in life. Watching my family pour their hearts into small food businesses taught me the grit, resilience, and respect for every dollar that running a business demands.
As the first in my family to earn a university degree, I’ve always loved learning, tackling challenges, and solving complex puzzles. These experiences shaped my deep appreciation for business owners and my calling in tax — where every client’s situation is a unique mosaic waiting to be thoughtfully unraveled.
Extensive Experience
I built my career at leading organizations including KPMG, ATCO Ltd., and BDO, consistently recognized as a top performer.
At KPMG, I contributed to Canada’s largest deal at the time: the CNOOC $15.1 billion acquisition of Nexen in 2012.
I led tax audits for one of Calgary’s largest companies for several years.
I was also featured in KPMG’s national recruitment magazine as a standout tax manager.
For the past decade, I have focused exclusively on privately owned businesses with EBITDA ranging from $1 million to $250 million. My experience spans many industries, including real estate (industrial, commercial, residential, construction, and development), private equity, professional corporations (doctors, dentists, lawyers, and others), utilities, energy services, retail, hospitality, aviation, and manufacturing.

My Calling
At the peak of my corporate career, a deeper purpose emerged. Guided by faith and a desire for meaningful work, I left my role as a tax partner at BDO in late 2025 to build something better. F. Mar Professional Corporation was created to offer balanced, sustainable hours, fair profit-sharing, open dialogue, and a culture where growth — including through mistakes — is celebrated. Here, we always put your goals first.
Personal Life
Outside of client work, I have facilitated CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program and Corporate Reorganizations Course since 2012. In 2020, I received the Jeff K. Jutzi Facilitator Award for dedication to leadership, engagement and advancing tax education.
At home, I’m a proud wife to a firefighter-turned-training officer and mom to two energetic young children. We love watching them play sports, skiing, traveling, biking, and cozying up with books together. These moments constantly remind me what truly matters.
